Paragon Kilns, Furnaces, and Ovens For Annealing, Beads, Ceramics, Enamels, Glass, Jewellery, Knife Making, Lost Wax, Silver Clays, Heat Treating, Lampwork, Porcelain, And Vitrigraph.

Paragon kilns are used for almost every type of material and process: slumping glass, jewellery making, enamelling, ceramics, porcelain, making knives, silver clays, enamels, bead annealing, heat treating, lost-wax burnout, casting, fusing, melting, lampwork, china painting, pottery, raku, and vitrigraph.

They all have built-in automatic digital programmers: the popular Sentry Xpress 3-key, an enhanced Sentry 12-key, or an advanced Sentinel SmartTouch touch screen.

They all include an integral stand with plastic feet or a separate table with lockable casters and one or two shelves. And there's a choice of colours, options, shelf kits, and accessories.

Although each kiln has a prime function, most kilns can do most things within their size and temperature limits. If you want help choosing, call me or use the contact mail above the menu bar near the top-right of any page.

Choose from the Paragon BlueBird, Caldera, CS ClamShell, Dragon, F Elite, FibreFuse, FireFly, Fusion, GL, HomeArtist, HT, Iguana, Janus, KM, KM XL, KM PRO, KM XL PRO, Ovation, Pearl, PMT, SC2, SC2 PRO, TNF, Trio, Viking, Vitrigraph, Vulcan, W, and Xpress kilns, furnaces, and ovens.

BEFORE YOU START

PRICES, PRIVACY, AND FINDING WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR

On-line retail is an unchecked arena: almost everything is the best or the cheapest, and is being sold by a premier dealer. Often, the final price, delivery, and VAT only appear at the checkout. And ...

US-international kilns don't come with a shelf or posts or shelf wash: except the SC2 which comes with a small flimsy fibre shelf, but no posts.
Our smaller UK-EU kilns, such as the SC2, SC2 PRO, SC3, SC4, Caldera, Firefly, Xpress Q11, and Xpress E12, have a pro kit in the box and included in the price. It's not a £35 extra.
Our larger UK-EU kilns don't have a kit so you don't pay for one that you don't need. The BlueBird, F series, KM series, Vitrigraph, Vulcan, and W series don't need shelves. For the others, there are recommended kits, stacking shelves, half-shelves, props, shelf wash, ceramic blocks, crucibles, knife holders, and wax trays in different sizes.

Prices here are transparent: they're for UK-EU voltage, CE and UKCA marked, TUV tested kilns, and include comprehensive instructions, UK VAT, and free support from a top-tier international distributor.

For prices, trading terms, and secure on-line shopping, use the shop link below the menu bar near the top-right of any page. The order form is on the shop page, after the price list near the bottom.

On-line privacy is important: you won't have to create an account, register, log on, remember a password, or accept cookies. We don't harvest email addresses, and nothing is tracked, kept, or re-used. And no ads, fake reviews, newsletters, promotions, or social media. So there's nothing to opt out of.

This information-rich resource describes every kiln clearly and in detail, so will help you make the correct choice. Although it works on a phone or a pad, it's better on a larger screen.

To compare different kilns you could print the relevant pages. They should print correctly on A4 paper but check first in Print Preview if you normally use wide margins. Economy or Fast print will use less ink.

Nearly everything is just one click or tap away: use the links above and below the menu bar near the top of the page. The links will change colour just before you click.

There are no links in the text. But, there are lots of mouse-over words that generate context-sensitive pop-ups: a useful, and optional, way of explaining things. Try it here.

AND THE XPRESS SERIES
Paragon Xpress Q11 Kiln With A Sentry Xpress Programmer For Ceramics, Enamels, Glass, Metal Clay, And Porcelain. Paragon Xpress E14 Kiln With A Sentry Xpress Programmer For Enamelling, Fusing Glass, Lost Wax, And Silver Clay. Paragon Xpress Q11 Paragon Xpress E14 Paragon Xpress 1613 Sentry Xpress

Paragon Xpress Kilns For Annealing, Art Clay, Beads, Ceramics, Dichroics, Enamelling, Fusing, Glass, Heat Treating, Lost Wax Burnout, Silver Clays, PMC, Porcelain, Pottery, And Raku.

Paragon Xpress kilns are generally used for ceramics, enamelling, annealing, casting, fusing, sagging, and slumping glass, heat treating, lost wax burnout and casting, metal clays, porcelain, china painting, decals, pottery, and raku, although they have other applications. They're 1290°C to 925°C kilns with digital programmers, in Paragon blue or customised berry, black, jade, navy, pink, purple, or turquoise.

There are seventeen four-sided versions, in ascending order of internal size: the Xpress Q11, Q11W, E9, E9W, E10, E10B, E10W, E10BW, E12, E12B, E12W, E12BW, J14, E14, E14B, E14W, and E14BW. They're plug-in, front-opening, table-top kilns with Sentry Xpress 3-key programmers. The B versions have a bead-annealing door, the W have a heat-resistant glass viewing-window, and the BW have both.

There are two multi-sided versions, in ascending order of internal size: the seven-sided Xpress 1313 and the eight-sided Xpress 1613. They're wired-in, top-opening, floor-standing kilns with firebrick interiors and Sentry Xpress 3-key programmers.

Let's look at the Paragon Xpress Q11, shown in the first photo above. It's a 1290°C, square, plug-in, front-opening, table-top, firebrick kiln, with a tilted easy-view cone-fire ramp-hold Sentry Xpress 3-key programmer.

Why buy an Xpress Q11? It's a plug-in kiln, fully programmable, heats up quickly, and hot enough for most materials, including ceramics and porcelain. It's ideal for classrooms, course venues, schools, jewellery studios, and home businesses as, at 16kg, it's light enough to get out and put away.

The firebrick interior is suited to long firings, it's a front-opener generally preferred for small pieces, and it can hold two stacked shelves for low-profile pieces or metal clay jewellery. It's a favourite for porcelain beads, ceramic coasters, enamelled jewellery, china mugs, dolls, figurines, fused glass, and metal clays.

The US-international kiln doesn't come with a shelf or posts or shelf wash. Our UK-EU kiln has a pro kit in the box included in the price: one solid tough 152mm x 152mm x 15mm cordierite shelf, four 12mm shelf posts, and 450gm of wash. It's not a £40 extra.

The UK-EU kiln is rated at 230V-240V 1440W, so it can use a regular mains socket. It's fitted with a switch that cuts off power to the elements when the kiln is opened: a UK-EU legal safety requirement. However, never get careless: kilns are very hot and connected to the mains.

The external dimensions are 279mm x 381mm x 457mm high. The case has slots for air circulation and an integral stand with four plastic feet. The shipping weight, including the box, is about 20Kg.

The door metal is drilled for a central peephole-vent, but the firebrick isn't. If you want the firebrick drilling, do it yourself, or ask when you order.

The firing chamber measures 152mm x 152mm x 159mm high and heats from the back and both sides, with the elements in dropped recessed grooves in the 64mm thick bricks. The kiln has an electro-mechanical relay and a nickel-chromium K-type thermocouple.

The Paragon Home Artist Kiln For Annealing, China Paints, Decorations, Dolls, Enamels, Figurines, Fusing Glass, Low-Fire Ceramics, Metal Clays, Moulding, Raku, And Testing Glazes.

The Paragon Home Artist kiln is generally used for annealing, casting, fusing, moulding, sagging, and slumping glass, china painting, decals, dolls, figurines, lampwork, lost wax, low-fire ceramics, silver clays, and raku, although it has other applications. It's a 1095°C cone 4 kiln with a digital programmer, in Paragon blue or customised berry, black, jade, navy, pink, purple, or turquoise.

There's only one version: the HomeArtist. It's 1095°C, cylindrical, plug-in, top-opening, kiln on wheels with a ceramic-fibre interior, fast-heat embedded elements, and a Sentry Xpress 3-key programmer.

Let's look at the Paragon Home Artist, shown in the first three photos above. It's a 1095°C cone 4, cylindrical, top-opening, plug-in, ceramic fibre kiln on wheels, with a cone-fire ramp-hold Sentry Xpress 3-key digital programmer.

Why buy a Home Artist? It's ideal if you're short of space, or only use a kiln occasionally, because it can be wheeled away. The ceramic fibre interior has all-round heating so you can use three shelves.

The UK-EU kiln is rated at 230V 2200W, so it can use a regular mains socket. It's fitted with a switch that cuts off power to the elements when the kiln is opened: a UK-EU legal safety requirement. However, never get careless: kilns are very hot and connected to the mains.

The external dimensions are 406mm x 584mm x 475mm, including the wheels, telescopic handle, programmer housing, and hinge assembly. The shipping weight, including the box, is about 22kg.

The firing chamber measures 305mm x 305mm high, and is suspended in a vented steel case to help keep the outside cool. It heats from all sides, with the elements embedded near the surface of the 50mm thick fibre.

Paragon F130 Elite Paragon F200 Paragon F500 Sentry Xpress

The Paragon F130 For Annealing Beads And Glass, Glass Casting, Fusing, Sagging, And Slumping, LampWork, And Heat Treating.

Paragon F kilns are generally used for annealing beads, casting, fusing, moulding, sagging, and slumping glass, lampworking, and heat treating, although they have other applications. They're 925°C or 650°C kilns with digital programmers, in Paragon blue or customised black, blue, jade, navy, pink, purple, or turquoise.

There are four 925°C versions, in ascending order of internal size: the F120, F130, F200, and F240. They're square or rectangular, front-opening, table-top kilns with firebrick interiors, spring-assisted guillotine doors, punty-rod bead-annealing doors, adjustable bead-mandrel holders, and Sentry Xpress 3-Key programmers. In the US, the F130 is called the Elite.

And one 650°C version: the F500. It's a rectangular, front-opening, table-top kiln with a firebrick interior, a spring-assisted guillotine door, punty-rod bead-annealing doors, adjustable bead-mandrel holders, and a Sentry Xpress 3-Key programmer.

Let's look at the Paragon F130 Elite, shown in the first photo above. It's a 925°C, square, plug-in, front-opening, table-top, firebrick kiln, with a ramp-hold Sentry Xpress 3-key programmer.

Why buy an F130 Elite? It's the most popular of the F series. With a maximum temperature of 925°C it's ideal for a bead shop, course venue, commercial glass studio, or engineering workshop. It's robustly made, fully-programmable, and hot enough to work with many other materials and processes within its size and temperature limits. The guillotine door is very popular allowing easy access with the hot side facing away from you.

The UK-EU kiln is rated at 230V-240V 2400W, so can use a regular mains socket. It's fitted with a switch that cuts off power to the elements when the kiln is opened: a UK-EU legal safety requirement. However, never get careless: kilns are very hot and connected to the mains.

The external dimensions are 559mm x 660mm x 730mm high. The case has slots for air circulation and an integral stand with four plastic feet. The vertical-drop door is spring-assisted for easy opening. There's a five-place rod warmer on the top. The shipping weight, including the crate, is about 100kg.

The door includes a 203mm x 100mm, outward-opening, letter-box style, punty-rod door with magnetic catches. The rods can extend outside the kiln through the gap under the door, allowing the door to remain closed. The punty-rod door is backed with 50mm of rigidised ceramic-fibre to minimise heat loss.

There's a seven-place mandrel holder, which can be adjusted horizontally and vertically, or removed, using wingnuts, and a firebrick ledge that extends past the punty rod door making a handy working surface.

The firing chamber measures 279mm x 279mm x 330mm high, and heats from the back and both sides, with the elements in dropped recessed grooves in the 76mm thick bricks. The kiln has a long-life mercury relay and a nickel-chromium K-type thermocouple.

To learn more about the F130, click here to jump. All the F series, other kilns, and the shop, are on links at the top of this page. Prices include comprehensive instructions, a heat-treating guide, and UK VAT.

Paragon Fusion, CS ClamShell, and FibreFuse kilns are generally used for annealing, casting, fusing, melting, moulding, sagging, and slumping glass, china paints, decals, fire polishing, and lost wax, although they have other applications. They're 925°C kilns with digital programmers, in Paragon blue or customised berry, black, jade, navy, pink, purple, or turquoise.

There are five multi-sided versions, in ascending order of internal size: the seven-sided Fusion 7 and 7XL, the eight-sided Fusion 8 and 8XL, and the ten-sided Fusion 10. They're 925°C, top-opening, floor-standing kilns with firebrick interiors and Sentry Xpress 3-key programmers. XL means extra large. The Fusion 7XL is 1.39 times taller than the Fusion 7 and the Fusion 8XL is 1.22 times taller than the Fusion 8.

There's one ten-sided oval version: the Fusion Ovation 1013. It's a 925°C, top-opening, floor-standing kiln with a firebrick interior and a Sentry 12-key programmer.

There are eleven square versions, in ascending order of internal size: the Fusion 14, CS14S, CS14D, Fusion 16, CS16S, CS16D, FibreFuse 16, Fusion 19, CS19S, CS19D, and CS26S. They're 925°C, top-opening, table-top kilns with firebrick or ceramic-fibre interiors and Sentry Xpress 3-key or Sentry 12-key programmers. CS means ClamShell. The CSXXS versions have single opening: the lid and body together. The CSXXD have double opening: the lid or the body separately.

There's one rectangular version: the CS5630. It's a 925°C, top-opening, floor-standing kiln with a firebrick and ceramic-fibre interior and a Sentry 12-key programmer.

Let's look at the Paragon Fusion 8, shown in the first photo above. It's a 925°C, eight-sided, plug-in, top-opening, floor-standing kiln, with a ramp-hold Sentry Xpress 3-key digital programmer.

Why buy a Fusion 8? It's the most popular of the cylindrical Fusion kilns: wide enough for glass platters and slumping bottles and tall enough for bowls and vases. There are two versions: the plug-in 3120W Fusion 8 with top elements and the taller wired-in 4800W Fusion XL with top and side elements.

The UK-EU kiln is rated at 230V-240V 3120W, so it can use a regular mains socket. It's fitted with a switch that cuts off power to the elements when the kiln is opened: a UK-EU legal safety requirement. However, never get careless: kilns are very hot and connected to the mains.

The external dimensions are 635mm x 724mm x 889mm high. The body has two lifting handles and a wide-view peephole-vent in one of the sides. The lid is hinged along the back edge and has a fold-away locking support. The separate stand, which replaces the legs shown in the photo, is 457mm x 457mm x 457mm high and has four optional lockable casters. The shipping weight, including the crate, is about 82Kg.

The firing chamber measures 445mm x 229mm high and heats from the top, with the elements in dropped recessed grooves in the 76mm thick firebrick lid. For durability, the meeting edges of the lid and body are hardened with refractory cement. The kiln has an electro-mechanical relay and a nickel-chromium K-type thermocouple.

Electrical Spark. Kitiki Protective Heat-Resistant Gloves. Kitiki Protective Glare-Resistant Glasses. Kitiki Dry-Powder Fire Extinguisher.
Electrical Spark Heat-Resistant Gloves Glare-Resistant Glasses Fire Extinguisher

UK, EU, And US Safety Regulations.

US-made ceramic-fibre kilns, such as the Paragon SC2 PRO, have elements that are safely embedded in the rigidised fibre: so there's no danger of a mains-voltage electric shock.

US-made firebrick kilns, such as the Paragon Fusion 8, have elements in dropped recessed grooves in the bricks that are exposed when the kiln is open. For use outside the US, they're fitted with a switch that cuts off power to the elements when the kiln is opened: a UK-EU legal safety requirement.

All the kilns, ovens, and furnaces are built, checked, and tested before delivery. They're CE and UKCA marked, TUV tested, and CL and CSA approved.

It'll be too late to think about safety practices after an accident. Apart from kilns and accessories, the on-line shop includes heat-resistant ceramic blocks and cloths, digital reminder-timers, fire extinguishers, heat-resistant gloves, glare-resistant glasses, and clear protective glasses.

All particulates represent a health risk if they're breathed in, so it's important to wear a HEPA mask when mixing powders, handling charcoal, sanding dried metal-clays, and cleaning out your kiln. And, ideally, use clear protective glasses.

It's important to have your fire extinguisher near your kiln. Read the instructions as soon as you unpack it, learn how to treat burns, buy a basic first aid kit, and fit a smoke alarm. Although I've never heard of a fire caused by a kiln.

is a Cherry Heaven internet resource. Cherry Heaven is a top-tier international distributor for Texas-made Paragon kilns, furnaces, and ovens, and has been one of their top-selling partners from 2006 to : a pleasing outcome since the UK is only one third the area of Texas and one fortieth the area of the US.

Although Paragon kilns are very reliable, we normally have relays, thermocouples, heating muffles, programmers, and shelf kits in stock: even small parts such as screws, door hinges, bits of wire, and element connectors. Elements are the exception as there are so many variants, but these arrive air-xpress regularly.

As this is an on-line resource, there isn't a paper catalogue or a price list. However, you can mail or call about kilns, power supplies, public area safety, a special project, business ideas, diagnostics, repairs, or reselling opportunities.
